Monday inspiration

 Hello darlings, 

                  I hope you all had wonderful weekends....anything fun to report? I did a LOT of cleaning, rearranging and organizing this weekend. It is possible I have a sickness....;) It started because my eldest gal & I thought it would be fun to move her room around ( again) and that prompted a little bit of clearing out, a little bit of reorganizing and a lot of glee. Over the weekend I saw these flats....(thank you sweet Holly & first spotted them on Joy here)  and fell madly in love. Did I say madly in love? I meant Madly in love! So I thought I would find a few more little things that inspire magic and "beauty in little things". I hope you enjoy....

Closer to home

Hello my sweets! 

                This has been a really fun week....capped off with a sleepover at Marichelle's house last night, staying up way to late gabbing and the most delicious spaghetti & meatballs ever. Thank you hun! I feel like I have been on vacation a little bit. :) 

So....come on. Let's go out on the porch for awhile, ok? Let's pretend it is already spring, a warm day, a slight sweet breeze and the sun is shining. I bring you some tea & we'll have lunch out here. Ok? Great....

The little things & little moments

Hello my darlings! 

                 Ah...the little things. They make up the beauty of our days don't they...and there is nothing better to me, when I can just stop and really enjoy the moment. Tiny moments, big moments, seemingly ordinary moments. Of course I always have little things that I am obsessing over & coveting...today is no different. Some incredibly sweet pajamas, a custom poster and one sweet, sweet planter.

                    I keep thinking it is the weekend still....only because my girls don't have school this week and we have had some fun visits with friends. So, it seems like the weekend keeps going on....I'll take it! :)  Yesterday I was reminded of the lovely Liz Saintsing, whom I met at last year's NYIGF. Not only were her pillows & artwork beautiful but, she was just as sweet and down to earth. I was excited for her when she recently told me that her work will be part of Gump's San Francisco spring show. I thought I would pick out some of my favorite pieces of Liz's ( though frankly it is hard to choose)  and reunite them with their long lost loves. :)

ps I finally figured out why the sequin flats I bought at J. crew aren't online, I mentioned them here. Apparently, J.Crew has some things that are in store only....I didn't know that. I highly recommend checking them out if there is a J. Crew near you. :)

Closer to home: who I am

hello sweet ones, 

                  look, everyone has an idea of who they think they are. and maybe it differs from who the rest of the world sees. you can't really know the later...usually. you can only go along based on who you think you are & try to be true to that. no apologies. no masks. at least, that is how i feel. i have an almost obsessive need to be "what you see is what you get" no tricks up my sleeve, no smoke & mirrors. of course that can't be completely true, no matter how hard i do try. i know my sarcasm, goofiness, flakiness, laziness, swear like a sailor-ness, don't always come through on this page. sometimes i am mean & sometimes i am just flat out irresponsible. but, mostly i just feel like this guy below.

not totally sure what i am doing, bright orange beak, happy & a tiny bit scared 

often feel like my tongue is hanging out and i don't know it....

- love a bit of luxury & nice things but, often feel like a big dork (not that mastiffs are big dorks....ok, they are a bit & i adore them for it...we had a few growing up & they are just big love-mush-pots)

- like to make people laugh & feel happy to be around me (otherwise i miss out on all the little pleasures of life, and know how restorative laughter can be) i probably think i am funnier than i actually am. also, always a little worried my hair is doing something like this little guy's and i am completely unaware ( again)  

- often very afraid and shy (though i am gregarious and friendly so, no one is any the wiser) ;) 

- often feel small and unsure but, muddle through anyway cause i don't want to miss any of the fun

- love "love" and hope that i love the ones that matter most to me exactly the way they need to be loved. ( i am the one on the right, by the way) 

- sometimes feel left at the bottom of the stairs but, trusting that eventually i will make it back up them

but, mostly....I just feel like this guy. just happy to be here. probably wearing the wrong shirt but, really.....who cares? :)

Little things & Little moments

Hello dear ones, 

                    Ah...can't believe it is thursday already! I guess I will never stop marveling at how quickly time flies. You know those days, where you just really feel like you have your sh*t together? I had one of those days yesterday....got a haircut( which made me feel pretty), got stuff done( which made me feel on top of things) etc. Don't you love those days? They may not be frequent but, when they come along....they are restorative. Right? I easily came up with 3 things that are making me happy today. Etsy makes that an easy job...

~ landscape here ( love this original take on the shape) 

~ still yearning for an antler :) ....I love the bleached out color to this one here 

3 little moments: 

~ my oldest gal putting her arm around the littlest and saying "come on, little bug" & helping her upstairs for "splish splash". 

~ getting a new book in the mail ( that my hubby sweetly ordered for me on the sly) :) 

~ watching my littlest one have so much fun on her playdate yesterday ( they put on a "play" and it was hilarious)

                   I know I briefly mentioned Cake with Giants in a friday post recently but, upon visiting Amy's blog yesterday...I realized how many great things I find via All the mountains. She has amazing taste & even with all of my trawling for beautiful things, she finds things I have never seen before & love. Like the ring you see below.                     "Better late than never", I always say! okay, I don't always say that....in fact I hardly ever say that but, I am sorry for being so late today! Early this morning I was off to my eldest's choral rehearsal at school and I did not want to miss it! How are you all?
