Hello darlings...
It is no secret that I waited for Holly's new book with very loosely concealed excitement. Ok, it wasn't concealed at all....I couldn't WAIT! :)
Holly's blog was one of the very first blogs I read when I was first introduced to blogland & I have been a devoted reader since. It isn't just Holly's impeccable style & incredible talent with interiors. But, her warmth, kindness & attitude of "we are all in this together" & "can do it" spirit that makes me come back again & again. When I am seeking inspiration or when I am seeking comfort( with a cup of tea) ....I know, I can go by decor8 and get it. Holly is a friend & I am so thrilled to get the chance to meet her in person when her book tour comes to NYC. But, these are not the reasons for me writing this post. I hesitate to say "review" because I don't necessarily think I am qualified for such things....but, I will say that as an avid interior design book lover? Holly's is the best of the best. In my stack, sandwiched between Domino & Sibella Court's book Etc. Decorate is 288 pages of information & inspiration, there is something inside for everyone. Different styles, different levels of design expertise and though the photographs are gorgeous....there is also plenty of great notes, ideas and suggestions to inspire & get your creative thoughts churning.
Just a few photos ( sorry for the quality, Holly please forgive me, I am not the best photographer) to whet your appetite. The last image is of Leslie Sherwing's studio space & her home is throughout the book. I am a long time fan of her blog as well & her home is one of my favorite homes in the book. Quite frankly, it is hard to choose, as all of the spaces are so wonderful. And each time I go back to the book, I find new things to re-inspire. It is definitely not a one time read...it is one to go back to again and again, for constant inspiration. Suffice it to say...I adore it. Just to prove what I say is true...here are a few shots around my home; little vignettes that were restyled, inspired by things I read or saw in Holly's book. :)
I hope you enjoyed this little tiny tour & I hope it makes you want to run right out and pick up Decorate, if you haven't already. That was my intention. ;) One last thing, it is a dream come true for Holly...her first book being completed and published & I want to raise a virtual glass to Holly & for all of us...to dreams coming true.
