Hello sweet friends!
Well, here we are at the lake. It is a beautiful sunny day, the first since we got here. I could spend a long time, sitting and looking at a body of water. The ocean, a lake...I find it restorative and filled with hope. Why is that, I wonder.... About 30 minutes after we got here, my two girls ran out to the lake to check it out but, because of the rain & the moss on the cement incline at the water's edge....my littlest gal's feet flew out from underneath her and she hit her head pretty hard on the cement. Cut to- we spent the rest of the night in the ER; she had a CT scan and aside from a very mild concussion and some vomiting...she was absolutely fine. And the staff at the hospital here could not have been nicer. The next day; she was back to her cutie pie self and I couldn't stop staring at her. I admit, I stare at them a lot anyway. Cause I think they are just so beautiful & remarkable. But, that day...I just kept counting my blessings and thinking how lucky we were. There are so many different ways it could have gone & I wanted to get down and kiss the ground because we escaped pretty much unscathed.
Have you ever seen the movie "Sliding Doors" ? I really like that movie...it made me think of how things go & how they could go. I feel like I won the lottery, you know what I mean?
