Closer to home

Hello lovelies, 

                  Happy friday!  You know, there are many things that make me happy. Very happy. No matter what mood I am in. One of those things is my littlest one's drawings. I am amazed at her focus, her skill and her love for it.  All at 5....

~ hamster, beach, bunny, fish ( I don't know if you can tell but, there is a little heart in his thought bubble), crabs and bear by Tallulah ( aren't they the sweetest things ever? The hamster is my fave. :) 

Yesterday, the power went out for a little while (lots of rain and I guess a stray branch) so....we made pumpkin muffins. It was fun being in the kitchen with my girls, they love to make stuff. Then we took a walk ( me excercising, pushing the littlest in the stroller & my big girl riding her bike. ) When we got to town, they had some frozen yogurt and a trip to the toy store. It all made me happy. This weekend, we are going to visit friends and go to a birthday party. How about you?Any fun plans? On monday, when you come visit me again.....things may be pretty different around here. I think my new blog re-design will be up and running on monday, I think you will like it. Julie has been working so hard & is so great. Have a wonderful weekend, my friends. But, just before you go...

Little things & little moments

Hello my friends, 

                     It was so nice to wake up today & not rush around getting ready for school. Do you all have today and tomorrow off from school too? So many things to love, so little time. :) Apparently, I have a thing for arrows. Who knew? What is it about them that is so appealing? Do you like them too? Oh, and where do you stand on waves and tassels? :)

ps I know I have mentioned this before but, after almost 10 years...they are still showing the commercial my eldest "babe" and I did when she was 8 months old. Lately, folks have reported they have seen it running a lot. Have you seen it? I would love to know, it makes me happy to know it is still out there. Here.

Monday monday

Hi there! 

               How are you my sweets? Did you have a lovely weekend? Anything fun to report? We had a good time with family and I loved getting to see my brother, my sis in law & my niece. I miss being around my brothers more than I can say...my whole family still lives in Florida and I so wish they lived closer to me. Since they are my older brothers; I feel looked after when I am with them, you know what I mean? Maybe it is very particular to being the only girl & the baby, with 3 older brothers. Over the weekend I saw some great diys that I thought I would share with you. One, Marichelle introduced me to; one is in a great book I have and one is so simple, even I could do it! :) 

~ Now, this is a photo of lamps at pottery barn but, the diy instructions are here & couldn't sound simpler. I love this look and the wheels are turning in my head as to what lamps of mine I can use as guinea pigs! :) (thanks Marichelle!) 

~ I saw this pic and again, my little wheels started turning. I immediately started emptying frames in my bedroom and hanging them up without their glass or backs but, framing objects that I love and wanted to highlight. I will try to show you a pic on friday. frames here 

~ This mural has been on my mind for quite some time after seeing it in Yellow Owl Workshop's book "Print Workshop".  I kind of think my version would never look this pretty but, I so want to try it in my second floor hallway. 

So, do any of these appeal to you? Would you give any of them a go? Do tell! Or if you have any others you'd like to share that you have tried or would like to try....I love a good diy!

Closer to home

Hello my sweethearts, 

                           Happy friday!  Any fun plans for your weekend? We are going to spend some time with family; including heading into the city to have brunch with my middle bro, sis-in-law and niece. I am going to be so happy to see them because I don't see my brothers and their families nearly enough. They all still live in Florida, where I am from. I miss them.... 

Here's a little snapshot for you:

Hello lovely ones, 

                          Ah, the end of the week is approaching. Any special plans for the upcoming weekend? As I type, I have a little one on my left arm & a furry little one on my right side. Sigh...so sweet.  I have lamps on the brain...why? I have no idea. But, see the one below?  With butterflies?! love. I fancy it for my dresser. Oh, and the doormat? For our backdoor. And the candle? I just fancy the packaging. :)

                       Oy.  So sorry I am so late today! Is it TMI to tell you that I woke up to our littlest dog having stomach trouble ALL over our second floor? I mean....all over. Had to run to Target and get a new steam cleaner. Yeah, that bad. sigh. Poor little thing. At any rate, I am back and so excited to show you the gorgeous pillows and jewelry I found. It was searching through the favorties of the jewelry artist in the first pic, that lead me to the pillow shop. Velvet & gorgeous colors? I am in. Hello my sweets! 

              Did you have a lovely weekend? Anything fun happen, that you'd like to share? We had a really nice weekend; long walks, family over for dinner, a celebration for my little nephew's 1st bday, a sleepover and I cleaned & cleaned some more( why is cleaning out and organizing a linen closet so incredibly satisfying?) :) At any rate, over the weekend I also came upon the image below and it was like a breath of fresh air. I do love white, that beautiful color of aqua on the stool and the crazy good light and view that the mirror is bringing in. So, I thought I would find some other lovely things to keep it company. I hope you enjoy.... and I hope it starts your week off right.
