Hi,
I hope you all have had a good week & have a wonderful weekend in store. I thought I would share a few snippets from my week....and a teeny tiny diy. I say teeny tiny cause if I can do it, anyone can do it. I am not, as I have said before, particularly crafty. But, I do love projects and only wish I had the patience to do them by the letter. I don't. At any rate, Ez made me think maybe I should share it on here, just in case any of you were obsessed with rope, like I am! (ps you should see the diy Ez has on her blog today, ah-ma-zing.)
Whatcha need:
a plain 18" round mirror, I got this one at Target here.
1 package of Manila rope from Home depot
hot glue gun or probably you could use something like gorilla glue, or liquid nails ( not sure about that though since I didn't try those)
That's it!
I just glued and pressed the rope around the mirror, twice....working semi-slowly and began and ended my pieces in the same place. It helps if you roughly measure and cut off the length of rope you think you will need, as it is easier to manipulate that way. Just err on the side of longer...so, you don't run out of rope! :)
Then I hung the mirror & did a faux hang with extra rope above ( looping it over a decorative finial and nailing the pieces to the wall so, they don't slouch or move. If you looked behind the mirror you would see that the rope hanging above isn't attached to the mirror in any way. It just looks like it is! My inspiration was from this diy & also the idea of nailing small nails into the hanging part of the rope so it wouldn't move.
Just a few little images from around the house:
~ one of my pals,Christine,on instagram asked about this table so, I thought I would let her know about it here. I bought it at a yard sale, for $50 ( thanks to the heads up from Marichelle- she knew I had been looking for one) and then painted it using lovely Barb's ( knack studio) tutorial here. :)
I love this book & I snapped this shot of it on Instagram the other day. It was interesting to see how many of my friends on there responded to it's message. I think we all really want to be given permission to not have to try so hard and not try to be perfect. But, still have a home you love & are proud of. If you can, pick up a copy....it's great.
Sorry for no extra links today, my friends. I am under the gun today. I promise I will make it up to you next friday! :)
I will see you back here on monday, until then...be well.
xo
