Hello, hello!
How were your weekends? Anything fun or exciting to report? My girls & I took off to a friend's place on Fire Island, NY. I had never been there, have any of you? One of the things I love about beach towns is the casual atmosphere inherent there. In Fire Island, no cars are allowed so, everyone bikes everywhere. Casual little bike stands abound, where you don't chain them up, you just...park it. Cute adult trikes, with two wheels in back, and a BIG basket that could carry, say...a 6 year old! :) That was my favorite part, biking everywhere and taking in the sites. Also, the beach at night....our 4 kids playing and us enjoying the fact that it was 8:30 at night and it was still light out. Sometimes I am so bad about taking photos but, I did take one on our way out on the ferry. A tiny sunset view....
Snippets:
And this is what I found in my wallet when we got out there; Joel had hidden in there for me to find later. ( things like that make you feel so loved & put a bounce in your step)
Inspiration:
~ This is Beatrice Wood, whom I have lovely Elle Moss to thank for introducing me to. I was so inspired by her story. That she was a potter, a painter & a writer, lived to 105 and her last 25 years of life were her most productive. Inspiring.
~ Also this, the first world air show at The Grand Palais in Paris. 1909 Photographed by Leon Gimpel in Autochrome Lumiere ( an early color photography process); besides the balloons being so beautiful, it is staggering to see how much the world has changed,no? Amazing.
I hope you have a wonderful week, my friends. We have kind of a busy one; with the girls finishing up school. But, I will see you back here tomorrow! Until then, be well!
