Just a few things to share....that are on my mind. This process of beginning my own line, getting my workshop up and running and working on new things day in and day out, is learning patience and using this quote as one of my mantras; "Accept failure as part of the process". When I land on something that makes me happy & I want to wear, then I know I have made something to be proud of. Sometimes it means, I go back and redesign something or tweak it a little bit. I did that with my shield ring recently and I love it even more than I did the first time around. It's a good lesson for me to learn and retain. So, I though I'd share the latest version of it with you today & two other things I am obsessing about.
~ This Ace & Jig top ( Marichelle was wearing it the other day & now I can't get it out of my head...it is part of my new decision to buy fewer things but, quality things. Things that will last and last and are exactly what I want, instead of what I "kind of want"(but, are cheaper). Does that make sense?
~ These clog boots by Bryr. I was inspired to read about Isobel Schofield's journey & how she struck out on her own, to begin this handmade venture. It's not easy to do that & I applaud her dedication to quality. Bryr website
~ The new version of my shield ring; I changed the size & pattern on the shield, giving it a hammered texture that makes it extremely shiny and reflective. I made it a little longer & gave it a double band, which I like the look of and balances the shield piece better, making it stronger and less likely to get caught on things or get bent out of shape. (here; the new version will be in the shop later today)
All good things. Have a fantastic week, my friends!
See you soon.
